Lack of Enthusiasm?

"Depression is only Anger without Enthusiasm."

I can't recall where I heard that or who said it, but what do you think?
Is depression only anger?

    Yes, this is what I have heard. But what is the depression is chemical? What if the depression is situational? This I think could be anger. Anger at the situation. I think hoplessness is involved in depression.
